School Nominations Direct Admission SchemeSNDAS

 

Program Objectives:
This program is designed for students who have outstanding talents in specific academic or non-academic fields (such as music, sports, community service, etc.), but may not be able to fully demonstrate their strengths in the Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) examination.

Program Details:

  • Choose one program from nearly 300 subsidized bachelor's degree programs offered by 8 UGC-funded universities.
  • All recommended students will be arranged for interviews; some universities may also conduct written tests.
  • Successful applicants will receive "Direct Admission" offers before DSE results are announced, regardless of their DSE grades.
  • If a student accepts a "Direct Admission" offer, they will not be admitted to other programs through JUPAS.

 

JUPAS School Principal’s Nominations (SPN)

 

Program Objectives:
The main purpose of this program is to recognize applicants' contributions to social service or outstanding performance in non-academic areas (such as sports, music, social service, creative activities, other cultural activities, or leadership abilities). It provides a more flexible admission system that does not overly rely on public examination results.

Program Details:

  • Universities will give appropriate consideration to nominees based on their individual qualifications and their JUPAS Band A program choices.
  • Nominees have the opportunity to receive "Conditional Offers" or additional "bonus points" through interviews.

 

The Education University of Hong Kong

EdUHK Undergraduate Programme Nominations Scheme (UPNS)

 

Program Objectives:

The EdUHK Undergraduate Programme Nominations Scheme (UPNS) aims to attract young talents who aspire to develop to their fullest potentials and to serve the school community. This is a deep collaboration with school partners aimed at selecting students with the potential to become outstanding educators and future professionals.

 

Recommendation Requirements and Standards:

Nominees must meet ALL of the following criteria:

 

1.    JUPAS Choice

  • Must place chosen EdUHK programme(s) as Band A choice in JUPAS

2.    School Reference Report

  • Rated "Excellent" or "Good" in ALL of the 13 attributes

3.    Academic or Non-Academic Achievements

  • Demonstrate high standard of academic performance OR strong achievements in non-academic areas (sports/music/visual arts/social services)

4.    Commitment to Society

  • Be prepared to commit themselves to the betterment of society

 

Program Features:

1.    Personalized Support

  • EdUHK will contact nominees providing latest programme information, timely advice and necessary assistance

2.    Interview Opportunity

  • Shortlisted nominees will be interviewed in June (before HKDSE results release)
  • Students with excellent interview performance will be given priority of admission

3.    Buddy Scheme

  • Nominees will be invited to join the "Buddy Scheme"
  • Current undergraduate students will share learning experiences and provide useful tips

4.    Scholarship Opportunities

  • The UPNS has been linked with entrance scholarship schemes associated with some school sponsoring bodies.

All UGC-funded undergraduate programmes, including BA / BSc / BSocSc programmes and Teacher Education double degree programmes.

 

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong

School Recommended Direct Admission Scheme (SRDAS) for Talented Students

 

Program Objectives:

School Recommended Direct Admission Scheme for Talented Students (The Scheme) aims at giving due recognition to students who have demonstrated remarkable talents / distinguished achievements in academic and/or non-academic areas, significant contribution to community, or strong leadership for direct admission. Students with distinguished academic and/or non- academic achievements will be considered for direct admission regardless of their public examination results.

 

Recommendation Requirements and Standards:

  1. Students who meet the following criteria are eligible to be considered under the Scheme:
  2. Local Student/ residents with right of abode in Hong Kong; and
  3. Applicant of HSUHK NMTSS programmes; and
  4. School applicants attending the public examination e.g. HKDSE, IB, GCE A-level, etc; and
  5. Outstanding academic achievements; and/or
  6. Distinguished achievements in non-academic areas, e.g. sports, music, arts, etc.; or
  7. Outstanding leadership qualities, e.g. Head Prefects, Presidents of Students’ Unions; or
  8. Participation in community services
  • Successful candidates will receive a "Direct Admission" offer from the university, regardless of their DSE results.

 

Other Local Recommendation Programs

Tung Wah College

Principal Recommendation Scheme (PRS)

 

Program Objectives:

The Tung Wah College Principal Recommendation Scheme aims to provide direct admission opportunities for students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance or non- academic achievements, recognizing their excellence and potential in various areas.

 

Recommendation Requirements and Standards:

Nominees must meet ALL of the following criteria:

 

  1. Be senior secondary 6 students in the academic year during which applications are submitted
  2. Be sitting HKDSE public examinations in 2026
  3. Demonstrate strong academic performance and potential to succeed in their selected programme through school reports, academic records, awards, or other relevant academic achievements; and/or
  4. Have notable accomplishments in areas such as sports, arts, leadership, community service, or other extracurricular activities that highlight their unique talents and contributions.

 

Program Features:

  • Guaranteed interview opportunity for recommended students (tentatively in June)
  • Successful candidates will receive ONE unconditional offer^
  • Application fee is NOT required for recommended students

Notes:

^ For the Higher Diploma in Nursing (SSSDP), only a conditional offer will be made to successful PRS candidates. These candidates must meet the minimum entrance requirements set by the NCHK, i.e. achieving HKDSE results of “222A2” for this programme.
